39865 Young Lane
Coach Brandon Young is a 2001 graduate of Chopticon High School and a 2006 scholar athlete graduate of the University of Connecticut. He is a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist, Weightlifting, and Speed & Agility coach with NSPA. Young, was a three sport athlete at Chopticon, participating in basketball, football, and track and field. In 2001, Young won the 100 and 200 meter dash in record-setting time of 10.56 and 21.6 seconds and clinched his spot as the 2001 SMAC Champion. That along with his performances in basketball and football helped seal the deal on his NCAA Scholarship for college, and induction into the Chopticon Hall of Fame. Coach Young, spent five years at the University of Connecticut as a wide receiver. He was timed in the 40 yard dash at 4.28 seconds and awarded the teams Unsung Hero Award. Young, was offered a tryout for the Kansas City Chiefs, but unfortunately turned it down due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Although, his football career came to an end, he is thankful to be given a second chance in life. Since the accident most of his work has been geared towards the community through training, mentoring, and working with at risk youth and adults. Coach Young, established Focus Elite Sports and Mentoring in 2019.
